So, who are you then?

I’m Andrew Nattan, an SEO copywriter based in Greater Manchester. I’ve been writing content for the web since 2002. I’ve written for fun, I’ve written for profit and I’ve written because sometimes a handwritten note will get you out of trouble when a face-to-face apology will get you slapped.

Are you experienced?

I first started writing in 2002, contributing articles to the BBC’s h2g2 site – a peer-reviewed precursor to Wikipedia. Alongside encyclopaedia entries, I indulged my creative side as a fairly eclectic contributor to the site’s newsletter. Restaurant critic, interviewer, sports columnist – if it involved getting my hands on a keyboard, I just couldn’t say no. So much so, that on graduating from University, I decided I might just pursue writing as a career.

Pen for hire

In 2007, I was taken on as a Junior Copywriter by a leading marketing firm. There I learnt the most important skills a young copywriter can pick up – how to refine my previous efforts into professional, convincing copy. And that the tea run is a vital part of any creative’s life. During my time there, I wrote for a diverse selection of clients – hotels, industrial drilling companies – and one lady who put on catwalk shows for stray animals. It might sound strange, but it means I’m ready to take on any project you need me to tackle.

SEO Specialist

After 11 months and one promotion, I moved into the field of SEO with a search engine consultancy in the city centre. Alongside my role as an SEO consultant, I took on all of the business’s copywriting – from website copy to press releases and news articles. In 2009, I was also appointed as content editor of the official company blog.

Along the way, I’ve also created content for clients of my own, building up a portfolio of delighted customers.
