I’ve been a copywriter for 25 years. Writers have to have a deeper understanding of the subject matter/product/etc. to write about it than designers do. Writers have to “go deep.” Both professions require talent and skill. But it is true that many people think they can write (although they can’t — at least, not at a professional level) and very few seem to think they can design a layout. I respect designers for the work they do. I’d like to be respected for my work as well.
